Virtual Guide to Entrepreneurial Learning launched
4000 teachers across Europe to become more entrepreneurial in the way they teach
Brussels, 7th March 2014: 120 trainers from 22 European countries were specially selected to come to Brussels to launch Europe’s first Virtual Guide to Entrepreneurial Learning www.tesguide.eu. The guide contains tools, methods and good practice recommended by teachers for teachers. This pool of trainers will drive the creation of a community of educators at the school level across Europe.
This initiative is part of The Entrepreneurial School project (www.entrepreneurialschool.eu) that will focus on teachers and their professional development as well as on making schools more 'entrepreneurial'. The consortium consists of an outstanding team of experts in entrepreneurial learning including industry participants, universities and education networks. ‘The Entrepreneurial School’ will train over 4000 teachers in the next 3 years across 22 countries. The project won co-funding from the European Commission, Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (CIP).
Entrepreneurial learning methods shift the role of teacher from being an instructor to a facilitator. Students learn to handle complex problems and situations and work effectively in teams. It is important to follow up on continuous professional development for teachers at all levels. Teachers want access to good tools and methods that will support their work in this field and they also benefit from the ideas and expertise of those with longer experience.
During the launch event that took place in Brussels, industry representatives, policy makers and practitioners shared their views on entrepreneurial learning in schools, encouraging continuous professional development for teachers at all levels and paving the way for making schools more 'entrepreneurial'.

The Entrepreneurial School project
